Technology and Relationships

Technology has led to many changes for our society over the past century. However, the last two decades have been astronomical; with advances being made on an annual basis that far out produce the year before.  Through this occurrence, there have been many new items introduced to the masses that change the way in which we think and interact with each other.

One of the most prevalent changes pertaining to this concept is the generalized development of relationships. Just ten years ago, the concept of meeting someone online over the Internet was considered a less than adequate measure taken by people who did not have the social skills to do it in person. However, it is not becoming an extremely popular avenue to take that more people are trying every day. Below are some of the most pivotal developments that have changed the way relationships develop in modern society.

Cell Phones

Cell phones have been a dominant contributing factor in the way relationships develop in modern society. Whether a couple meets in person, or online, the first step generally involves exchanging cell phone numbers. What follows typically is text messaging where they get to know one another better before agreeing to see each other again in person.

Dating Sites

As mentioned above, dating sites have become an extremely popular method of meeting someone and developing a relationship. As technological advances continue in web development, these sites have become more interactive and personal, which in turn make them more appealing to the masses.
